I’ve had the privilege of knowing Marika for quite a while now, having grown up just two doors down from her childhood home. But it wasn’t until 2020, when she and her then boyfriend Tyler asked me to take their maternity photos, that we truly connected. Fast forward to today, and so much has changed—there’s been a global pandemic, the arrival of sweet baby Emma, birthdays, graduations, engagements… and, most recently, the honor of capturing one of the most love-filled weddings I’ve ever witnessed.

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to spend a lot of time with this incredible couple. And I can confidently say, they are the real deal. They are completely in sync, their personalities complement each other perfectly—Tyler is the calm to Marika’s storm, and Marika brings out Tyler’s playful, goofy side that not everyone gets to see. Together, they’ve faced challenges, supported each other’s personal and professional growth, and built a beautiful family with two amazing kids.

Their wedding day was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple and the love they’ve cultivated with family and friends. The morning started with a sense of calm excitement as Marika and her bridal party gathered at the OTL in downtown Sherbrooke for hair and makeup. Outside, the sky was overcast and rain fell steadily, creating the most romantic, cozy atmosphere.

As the ceremony time approached at the Sherbrooke Golf Club anticipation grew as the wedding party was running a tad (1 hour!) behind. During this time the rain had only intensified, but the lush, green grounds and the elegant atmosphere of the venue more than made up for the weather and the delay.

When Marika walked down the aisle, all eyes were on her, but none with more love and adoration than Tyler’s. The ceremony was filled with handwritten vows, tears, laughter, and tradition. After the vows were exchanged, guests enjoyed a cocktail while we ventured outside for photos. And in the most magical twist of fate, the rain took a brief break, gifting us with 20 precious minutes of clear skies. We made every second count.

Below are some of my favorite moments from a day that truly felt like magic.
